Not to be lost in the shuffle of all the incredible 'Rebirth' news previously released, or the news soon to come, was a press release from DC Entertainment that will send a legion of fans into euphoric comas:
DC Comics will be launching not just a talent search, but a talent-cultivating program.
The project, spearheaded by comic giants Jim Lee, Geoff Johns, Klaus Janson, Andy Kubert, and Scott Snyder, shows a foresight by DC Comics that is currently unparalleled in the world of comics publishing. This will be a chance for aspiring creators to not just get their foot in the door of the prestigious publisher, but to be taught by titans of the industry.
The application process for both writers and artists is pretty straightforward, asking for resumes, previous experience, and samples of work. The deadlines for applying will take place from April 1-30 for artists, and May 1-31 for writers.
This is a fantastic opportunity that builds upon the open submission drive that Oni Press held several months ago, and the chance to learn from such impressive teachers is just as alluring as the potential job opportunities.
