Someone named Zendaya lands leading role in Spider-Man reboot

A person named Zendaya landed a reported leading role in the Spider-Man reboot.

Here's what I know about Zendaya:

She was in an acne commercial.

I think she is a singer.

Giuliana Rancic on Zendaya: "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil. Or weed! Yeah, maybe weed?"

Shit, that's pretty racist. (All right, after my ADHD took me on a quest researching the above quote I'm back.)

OK. Now, I'll actually do some research and find out who this person is and what her role will entail in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

After modeling in her early age for Macy's and Old Navy, she got appeared in the Kidz Bop musical video for a Katy Perry song.

She's 19. She took second-place on ABC's Dancing with the Stars when she was 16.

Zendaya has a song called "Swag it Out," among others.

I guess she's the lead on Disney's "K.C. Undercover" as K.C. Cooper.

She is Covergirl's most recent spokeswoman.

That's it.

As for Spider-Man, Tom Holland, is Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Jon Watts directing.  There is no word on the character she will be playing. Deadline Hollywood hints that it is not Peter's romantic interest, which is a tad disappointing based on Zendaya's youthful look.

Nailing the romantic interest casting is going to be extremely vital to this reboot. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield carried the last go-round and Sony/Marvel execs need to nail that one.

Holland has a super young look to him, so maybe the idea of love isn't even introduced until the tail-end of his first stand-alone.

Gerry Conway, who killed Gwen Stacy when he was 19 tweeted that she could be the right fit for Silk.
