Hot damn it's been a couple of good weeks to be a nerd.
The fabulous Lupita Nyong'o is reportedly in talks to join the "Black Panther" movie as T'Challa's love interest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 33-year-old actress won an Oscar in "12 Years a Slave," voices Raksha in the latest "Jungle Book" installment and, of course, threw on some badass CGI as Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens. For those clamoring and revolting against Star Wars for making her a CGI character, this will surely be some good news to see an actor/actress of color (hopefully) not be covered up or CGI'd to death.
The reports don't have a name connected to the potential love interest, but the mere fact that Marvel is in talks to bring Nyong'o is exceptionally good news.
Chadwick Boseman will reprise his role as T'Challa and the Black Panther. For those who haven't had time to see Captain America: Civil War yet, get your asses to the movie theater.
Boseman steals each scene he appears in, whether in costume or as the Wakandan prince/king, T'Challa. Ryan Coogler will write and direct Panther's first standalone film, which is set for a Feb. 16, 2018 (sigh) release.
Huge news for this series, hopefully it pans out!
