#WomanCrushWednesday: Marguerite Bennett

It started with Twitter, I think. My #WomanCrushWednesday that is.

I had always truly enjoyed Marguerite Bennett's writing. She has a strong sense of her characters and a wonderful storytelling ability. Her books always caught my attention, from inSEXts to Bombshells.

But when you start following Marguerite on Twitter, you see this strong, intelligent woman's real power.  And I'm not just talking about her badass sword skills.

My dear friend Emily (of this site and Poodle Queen Of The World) once told me that feminism is all about equality between the sexes and destroying the stereotype that femininity is a negative thing. This is actually super close to how Webster's defines it, saying feminism is "the believe that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities."

If there's another comic book writer doing a better job at being a badass feminist, I haven't seen her yet.  And I'm not the only one noticing the talent and awesomeness of Ms. Bennett.

Bennett is a powerful role model for out young women and aspiring writers of any gender or sexual orientation. Not only is her DC Bombshells title a hit, she continues to reinvent it. Like an entire issue using song lyrics.

Oh and did I mention the frequent delightful food AND cat posts on her social media?!?!?!?

There are a thousand and one reasons why Marguerite Bennett is this week's #WomanCrushWednesday. Check out her books, follow her social media and bask in the awesome that is one of comic's brightest female stars.
